History & Introduction to the Workshop
The All Soul's Procession in Tucson,AZ is perhaps one of the most important, inclusive and authentic public
ceremonies in North America today. The procession had its beginnings
in 1990 with a ritualistic performance piece created by local Tucson Artist Susan
Johnson who was grieving the passing of her father. Johnson felt she should honor her father in celebration & creativity.
In the fall of 2006, my
husband and I visited Tucson
and happened upon the 17th Annual All Soul's Procession. We found over 10,000 people participating in
the event. They grieved, honored and
celebrated all things that have passed, from relatives, friends, pets to the
ending and changing of relationships and careers.
The procession had a profound affect on me. Since the beginning of this decade, I have experienced the loss of my dearest friends, both parents, loss of home and city, ending of a dream business and many changes too numerous account for here. I found that I had to create some sort of ceremony for myself to grieve. I also needed to understand what each of those people and situations had given me. I still harbored the losses in my heart because the final requirement of ritual had not taken place which is to commemorate and celebrate in community. The All Soul's procession was the final piece. In Tucson was a community celebration and declaration to commemorate our universal experiences of change and death. My heart and life became lighter by participating in the procession and celebration. Within months of returning home we received news of two people in family who died. We still mourned but our experience in Tucson helped us heal and ease our sorrow. I am able to smile and laugh when I think of those things that have passed.
As a Medical Intuitive, I find that the underlying cause of suffering is the inability or fear of change. We have difficulty in letting go of things that have passed or no longer serve us. Within us is the Ultimate Guardian, the part of us that is the gatekeeper of change. The Ultimate Guardian is a powerful archetypal force in our lives. When we face this Guardian through creativity, wisdom and ritual the Gate to being fully present is opened. Change no longer stops us. Change is not a thing to be mourned but celebrated. Healing occurs at a profound pace and on many levels.
November 2-4, be prepared to reconnect to the lives that have touched yours and rejoicing in the life you are given. The Ultimate Guardian – Celebrating Life Workshop will change the way you live your life.
